Casio America Appoints Dave Shaw as Director of Marketing

Dave Shaw

Casio America, Inc. announced today that it has appointed Dave Shaw as its new Director of Marketing. In this position, Shaw will direct corporate storytelling, external communications, and agency collaboration across the U.S. operations. Shaw assumes responsibility as Casio continues expanding its U.S. presence and modernizing essential business functions. He takes over from Sue VanderSchans, who is retiring after more than 30 years with Casio America. VanderSchans led marketing communications and guided major initiatives across multiple business units.

Leadership Background and Strategic Direction

Shaw joined Casio America in January 2021 as Senior Manager of Digital Marketing. He most recently led strategic marketing and strengthened data‑driven decision-making in the Education Technology Division. Shaw brings over a decade of experience in consumer electronics and franchising to his new role. Casio America will rely on its audience‑first perspective to shape the company’s communications strategy.

“Dave understands our business at a fundamental level, from our education technology roots to our evolving consumer portfolio,” said Yusuke Suzuki, President and CEO of Casio America, Inc. “As we continue strengthening our U.S. presence, his leadership will be critical in shaping how we engage with customers, partners and the broader community. Dave brings both strategic discipline and creative vision, and I’m confident he will help elevate Casio’s voice in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”

Suzuki added that Shaw brings strategic discipline and creative vision to the role. Shaw will oversee integrated communications across social media, public relations, and brand messaging. He will also guide major product launches and support corporate initiatives with global teams.

“It’s an honor to step into this role at such an exciting time for Casio,” said Dave Shaw about his appointment. “With a strong foundation already in place, we have an opportunity to deepen how we connect with educators, musicians, consumers and business partners across the country. I look forward to building integrated communications strategies that highlight our innovation while staying true to the reliability and creativity that define the Casio brand.”

“One of the most rewarding parts of my time at Casio has been building a communications platform that supports every division and every launch,” said Sue VanderSchans. “Dave understands the importance of alignment, clarity, and creativity, and I’m confident he will continue to strengthen how we tell the Casio story.” In his personal life, Shaw is also a self‑published author reflecting his creative curiosity and discipline.
