Cloudinary Introduces AI Content Moderation for Brand Visual Control

Cloudinary Launches AI-Powered Moderation for Brand Visual Control

Cloudinary, the image and video platform of choice for many of the world’s most recognized brands, today announced the launch of its new product, Cloudinary Moderation. The product uses advanced artificial intelligence to review images before they are published. The product can review images and either allow, reject, or flag them instantly and accurately.

Cloudinary designed its Moderation product for businesses that handle large volumes of partner and user-generated content. The product simplifies visual governance for marketing and operations teams. The product helps teams avoid delivering low-quality or non-compliant visual content to customers.

Addressing Scale and Consistency Challenges

Though most brands have defined visual styles, ensuring scale and consistency in enforcing these can be a challenge for many brands. According to research, most brands face challenges in managing third-party content, with many brands relying on manual reviews, which are slow, resource-intensive, and subjective in nature. Moreover, relying on generic tools for moderation does not help, as these tools are not customizable for different brands.

Cloudinary Moderation can help address scale and consistency challenges with the help of AI, which can detect issues with images, such as the use of improper logos, colors, or image quality. Therefore, brands can ensure compliance before content reaches audiences.

“As a marketplace, maintaining high-quality and consistent product images is critical for customer trust and conversion,” said Rivly CEO Daniel Thompson. “With Cloudinary Moderation, we will be able to automatically review seller-submitted images, understand any issues, and immediately guide sellers toward optimal images.”

“Brands shouldn’t have to choose between speed and brand control,” said Keren Sela, GM for Moderation at Cloudinary. “Cloudinary Moderation lets them move fast while maintaining standards—automatically reviewing partner and user content against their specific guidelines.”
