Scania Dynamic combines vehicle updates with Scania digital services to improve everyday performance for transport operators.
The updated truck introduces changes across the driver environment, energy efficiency, and overall vehicle experience. However, Scania sees vehicle performance as more than hardware.
Transit operators also require drivers, data, and services. This is why Scania integrates these factors to ensure efficiency, comfort, control, and uptime. Scania’s Services 360 portfolio supports vehicle uptime, regardless of whether the vehicle uses an electric motor or internal combustion engine.
“By connecting the vehicle, driver, and fleet manager, Scania’s digital ecosystem turns data into action, supporting more efficient driving, better vehicle control, and improved operational performance every day,” says Lars Gustafsson, Senior Vice President, Head of Solutions Management, Scania.
The Scania Driver Application offers remote features for the vehicles for the drivers. ProDriver will also offer digital coaching and training modules for efficient driving. Scania Dynamic will improve the working environment too. These include better interior comfort, better lighting, digital rear-view mirrors, and driver assistance functions.
Connected Digital Tools Support Fleet Operations
Scania Dynamic increases efficiency by means of modifications to the actual vehicle. But driver behavior plays its role too, contributing to energy consumption. The ProDriver tool takes care of this aspect in a virtual way. This is how it functions through an application called Scania Driver.
An experiment carried out on 900 drivers showed how the program performed before and after the use of ProDriver. The experiment indicated that savings of fuel were obtained by all groups of drivers. The savings amounted to a maximum of 5%. High-performing drivers also benefited.
The average saving in fuel per fleet was 3.1%. ProDriver figures could also be tracked using My Scania. This platform links driver development to overall operational success.
The Scania Driver application expands the trucking experience outside the cabin. The drivers have the ability to access the status of the vehicle and operate its critical functions from afar. Additionally, drivers are able to ascertain the state of readiness of the vehicle before heading out.
In the meantime, My Scania enables fleet managers to get insights about the fleet and access services from Scania. On the other hand, the Scania Fleet App helps the back office team have mobile access. All these together allow the driver, vehicle, and fleet manager to be connected.
Services 360 provides long-term support through modular services covering uptime, maintenance planning, repairs, and digitalization. Moreover, the provision of consistent operating performance of the vehicle is made possible through the use of Services 360.
Higher energy efficiency may lead to reduced costs and emissions. However, Services 360 assists in ensuring maximum availability of vehicles. Scania Dynamic, Scania Driver app, ProDriver, and Services 360 ensure that fleet operations become efficient.
