Best Buy and Amazon have expanded their Fire TV partnership, creating new advertising opportunities through Best Buy Ads.
This long-term agreement will ensure that Fire TV keeps being brought to Insignia televisions. Furthermore, it will increase connected TV ad possibilities via Best Buy Ads. Effective from February 2027, Best Buy Ads will employ Amazon Ads programmatic technologies. Such technologies involve AI-driven solutions for campaign planning and activation.
This will not only allow brands to optimize their marketing strategies but also to analyze them. This way, the advertisers will gain access to additional advertising slots offered by Fire TV’s advertising network. Initially, this partnership was formed back in 2018 when the companies started working with Fire TV-enabled televisions.
“No one knows TVs or the customers who buy them better than Best Buy,” said Lisa Valentino, chief ads and media officer at Best Buy. “By combining Amazon’s extraordinary Fire TV experience with our Insignia TVs, we can both put a great product in more customers’ homes and create new premium opportunities for brands to reach engaged viewers. It’s a combination of expertise, scale and advertising value that only Best Buy and Amazon can deliver.”
Today, the extended deal marries Amazon’s skills in streaming with Best Buy’s home entertainment division. Fire TV will continue to be the only software on all Insignia TVs. Best Buy manufactures Insignia TVs in size options ranging from 24 to 85 inches. The range includes the recently launched Fire TV interface.
Expanded Fire TV Advertising Opportunities
Moreover, Alexa+ is available in most Insignia TVs. Best Buy will continue to be the exclusive retail partner of these gadgets. Customers can buy them either at Best Buy stores or through Amazon.com. Best Buy will make its sales through the two retail methods.
“By extending our relationship into advertising, Best Buy Ads and Amazon Ads will help brands reach relevant audiences with video and display Fire TV ads on the tens of millions of televisions we’ve together delivered to customers’ homes,” said Charlotte Maines, vice president of devices, content, and advertising at Amazon. “Brands will also have access to insights on how their campaigns perform on Fire TV to measure the business outcomes they care about most.”
Best Buy Ads would get access to advertising space on Fire TV, covering both current and new Insignia TVs. The new partnership means that the brands have yet another option to reach the target audience through ads. Furthermore, it allows connecting the advertising campaign to one of the most popular streaming services.
In terms of Best Buy and Amazon’s collaboration, it started in 2018. Both firms initially introduced Insignia and Toshiba smart TVs with integrated Fire TV. Since then, the companies have released over 100 models, receiving hundreds of thousands of four-star reviews from customers. These TVs are still available via the Best Buy app and BestBuy.com. They are also for sale at Best Buy stores as well as on Amazon.com from Best Buy.
