Adobe Finalizes Acquisition of Semrush to Strengthen CX Enterprise with Enhanced Brand Visibility Capabilities

Adobe Completes Semrush Acquisition

Adobe has officially closed its acquisition of Semrush Holdings, Inc., a major strategic move to strengthen its enterprise Customer Experience (CX) offerings. By integrating Semrush’s technology, Adobe aims to significantly sharpen its brand visibility capabilities. This is a timely initiative as AI interfaces and agents have begun to emerge as key points. They now drive discovery, assessment, and interaction for consumers.

Marketing trends are now pointing towards “agentic AI,” where intelligent agents serve as collaborators to speed up intricate processes. To lead in this area, Adobe recently launched “Adobe CX Enterprise”. It’s an end-to-end system that handles content, customer engagement, and brand visibility. By bringing Semrush into the mix, Adobe is filling critical gaps. Gaps in its ability to manage how brands appear in an AI-driven world.

Adobe’s data shows that AI traffic to U.S. retail sites surged significantly. It increased by 269% year over year as of March 2026. Despite this, many companies do not optimize their platforms for these new search interfaces. With Semrush, Adobe can now provide a powerful toolkit covering Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). It also covers Agentic Search Optimization (ASO).

Redefining How Brands Are Discovered

Adobe plans to unify Semrush’s discoverability intelligence with existing tools like Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe LLM Optimizer. Also, plans to unify with Adobe Commerce, and the Adobe Experience Platform. This ensures brands remain visible across both traditional search engines and emerging Large Language Model (LLM) surfaces.

“The rules of brand discovery and commerce are being rewritten in real time, and marketers who aren’t optimizing for that world today will find themselves invisible tomorrow. Together with Semrush’s leading SEO platform and agentic search intelligence, Adobe will empower our customers with an even more powerful solution: the full picture of how their brands show up to consumers, from discoverability in search engines and LLMs to content creation, customer engagement, and conversion, all in one integrated system at scale,” said Anil Chakravarthy, President of Adobe’s Customer Experience Orchestration Business.

“Semrush has spent more than 17 years helping marketers scale and grow, and that mission has never been more important than it is today. By joining Adobe, we see an incredible opportunity to build the definitive platform for brand visibility in an AI-driven world, helping marketers ensure their brands are found, trusted, and chosen at every touchpoint,” said Bill Wagner, chief executive officer of Semrush.

For marketing teams, the challenge is clear: they must now create content and experiences that educate both humans and AI agents. This acquisition puts Adobe in a prime position to help companies. Such as to navigate that transition, ensuring brands remain found, trusted, and chosen at every single touchpoint.
