ANA Urges Marketing Industry to “Push Pause & Power Up” for AI Future

ANA

The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) will bring marketers together for its 2026 Global Day of Learning. The event will focus on AI in marketing and emerging skills.

The meeting will be held by ANA on September 17, 2026. The topic of this year is “The Future of Marketing Work.” This day-long meeting will involve master classes, workshops, and discussion forums. Marketing experts will discuss AI, consumer behavior changes, measures, and the changing workplace.

The ANA Global CMO Growth Council drives the initiative. Marketing leaders worldwide helped shape the event’s priorities.

“AI isn’t simply giving marketers another set of tools. It’s forcing us to reconsider what skills matter, where human judgment creates the most value, and how the marketing organization itself needs to evolve,” said Nick Primola, Group Executive Vice President at the ANA and leader of the Global CMO Growth Council. “Global Day of Learning is our opportunity to collectively push pause on the work immediately in front of us and power up for what’s coming next. The goal isn’t to predict the future of marketing. It’s to give marketers practical ways to prepare for it.”

Primola also chairs the Global CMO Growth Council. Primola believes that the initiative will be helpful in preparing marketers for the changes in the future. “It is not about predicting the future of marketing. It is about providing marketers with concrete tools to get ready for it.”The Global Day of Learning draws inspiration from ANA’s “PTO Personal Time ON” program. The program asks marketers to disconnect from current demands.

Marketing Leaders to Share Insights on AI and Emerging Trends

Instead, participants can focus on learning and developing new professional skills. The “Push Pause and Power Up” message reflects this approach. The ANA says marketers must invest in their capabilities as technology changes. The organization also highlights the importance of adapting alongside new AI tools.

Raja Rajamannar, ex-Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Mastercard, will deliver his thoughts on “Quantum Marketing.” Shenan Reed, Global Chief Media Officer at General Motors, will speak about cross-media measurement.
