Coveo has acquired Anglera to strengthen AI-powered eCommerce through improved product data enrichment and discovery. The acquisition adds Anglera’s agentic AI technology to Coveo’s Commerce offering. Consequently, manufacturers, distributors, and enterprise retailers can make products easier to discover, compare, and purchase across digital channels.
Addressing Product Data Challenges
Coveo, leader in Experience AI, has acquired Anglera, a San Francisco-based AI native product enrichment company that is backed by Y Combinator. The acquisition will help enhance product information for online shoppers and AI powered shopping assistants.
More than ever, consumers are using AI Assistants to research and compare different products. However, if there are gaps in the details of a product such as size/ material/ fit, this can affect how visible it is. Product discoverability can be reduced by up to 30% if product attributes are missing, according to NielsenIQ.
Laurent Simoneau, CEO and Co-founder of Coveo, highlighted the importance of accurate product information.
“AI is transforming how people find and buy products, whether they’re shopping on an ecommerce website, sourcing industrial components through a B2B portal or asking an AI assistant for guidance. In every case, the products with the best data are easier to find and buy,” said Laurent Simoneau, CEO and Co-founder of Coveo. “Anglera enriches data at the source, and Coveo connects it to what buyers are looking for. Together, we help our customers improve product discovery, create better buying experiences and increase sales.”
Improving Product Discovery Through Agentic AI
Anglera’s agentic AI engine processes manufacturer specifications, PDFs, images, and other product information sources. It then standardizes and validates attributes against catalog requirements. Additionally, the platform retains source references to support accuracy and trust.
Ray Iyer, Co-founder of Anglera, explained the technology’s purpose.
“We started Anglera because so much valuable product knowledge sits in documents that no team can process by hand at scale,” said Ray Iyer, Co-founder of Anglera. “We built an engine that reads those sources the way an expert would and ties every attribute back to where it came from.”
Product data enrichment helps improve on-site search, recommendations, AEO and GEO. Anglera delivered a 120% improvement in traffic to landing pages from organic search for a retail clothing client over the course of 30 days. There was a 270% increase in traffic from referrals made using AI.
“Pairing Coveo’s insight into what buyers are searching for with our enrichment means we can identify gaps and fix the product data that’s costing customers sales,” said Amay Aggarwal, Co-founder of Anglera. “With Coveo, we can bring that technology to enterprise commerce at scale.”
Connecting Product Data With Buyer Intent
Adding Coveo’s intelligent search and discovery technologies using AI, intent, contexts, and behaviors, the companies will work together to bring products to life by bridging the gap between enriched products and buyer behaviour. This can reveal missing attributes through analysing search failures and popular information requests.
“We evaluated Anglera against an internal build and a broad range of product enrichment technologies because we wanted a solution that could meet the accuracy and reliability demands of enterprise commerce,” said Peter Curran, Chief Product Officer at Coveo. “Unlike solutions that rely primarily on images or web scraping, Anglera grounds AI-generated product information in multiple authoritative sources. This helps reduce guesswork and hallucinations, delivering the accuracy and trust enterprise customers need.”
Amay Aggarwal, Co-founder of Anglera, said the integration could help businesses identify product data gaps and reduce lost sales. Peter Curran, Chief Product Officer at Coveo, emphasized Anglera’s use of authoritative sources to improve accuracy and reduce AI-generated errors.
Expanding Enterprise Commerce Capabilities
Anglera enterprise customers (including many Fortune 500 enterprises) are now part of the Coveo ecosystem. Anglera will continue supporting its existing customers through its platform. Coveo Commerce customers will benefit from product enrichment as an add-on solution. Integration will be further deepened.
