Taco Bueno Introduces Drone Delivery through the Zipline app in North Texas

Taco Bueno Launches Drone Delivery in North Texas

Tex-Mex fans can now experience automated food logistics directly from their backyards. Taco Bueno officially launched drone delivery in North Texas through an innovative partnership with automated logistics leader Zipline. This service officially began on Thursday, May 7, at noon CST.

Currently, the service area covers residents within three miles of the 7400 block of North Beach Street. This initial launch targets hungry locals living in Watauga, Texas. Customers order by downloading the Zipline mobile application onto their smartphones. Next, users enter their physical address, browse the digital marketplace, and complete their checkout. Zipline autonomous aircraft handle the transit once the restaurant staff prepares the food.

“The drone-delivery partnership with Zipline is just one more example of the work we are doing to combine the heritage of Taco Bueno with innovations across products, service, technology, and customer experience,” says Dani Perales, Taco Bueno’s Director of Marketing and Innovation. “This is just one more step in our goal to make Taco Bueno the number one choice for Tex-Mex food, wherever you are.”

Future Expansion Across Texas Neighborhoods

The company decided to scale operations quickly after analyzing successful early results from its initial pilot program. Brand executives revealed plans to expand drone delivery in North Texas to Frisco and Mesquite locations by the end of May. Furthermore, the restaurant chain wants to add six to seven additional stores to the flight network before the end of 2026.

“This new partnership gives guests a faster, more convenient way to enjoy Taco Bueno’s fresh, made-from-scratch Tex-Mex favorites without leaving home,” Perales added.

Taco Bueno originally opened its doors in 1967. The Texas-born quick-service brand currently maintains its corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The regional chain operates 127 locations across the southern United States.
