Yext has introduced an AI agent harness designed to help marketing teams collaborate with AI agents. The new capability expands Yext’s agentic marketing platform through Scout.
The workspace helps corporate teams, field teams, partners, and agents collaborate. Context sharing while working towards similar marketing objectives is also possible. Yext mentioned that several companies have used AI agents to promote their business growth. But most companies implement these tools to improve efficiency.
AI agents perform tasks fast and reliably. Nevertheless, the marketing department will still have to make decisions about priorities and timing. As stated by McKinsey, 80% of those using AI in the workplace saw their productivity increase. At the same time, 37% claimed that AI helped increase enterprise EBIT.
“AI software companies are selling a vision where a CMO is better off with 10,000 agents than 10 great humans,” said Michael Walrath, chairman and CEO of Yext. “Every new technology gets sold as the advantage itself. Search, user-generated content, and social each gave early movers an edge until everyone had it, and then great marketers were the advantage again. Agents are no different because tools always commoditize, and marketers never do. We built Scout’s agent harness to put human judgment together with agents that carry historical context, memory, and intelligence. That’s an advantage a competitor can’t buy, because it runs on your people and your data.”
Michael Walrath, chairman and CEO of Yext, said marketers remain critical as technology becomes more accessible. Yext said most AI marketing tools still support individual workflows. Each marketer typically works with an agent inside a separate conversation.
Scout Connects Marketing Teams With AI Agents
The team communicates its findings in reports, through links, or exported files. In consequence, shared context becomes disjointed throughout marketing operations. The new multiplayer agent by Scout solves this problem. The marketing team, partners, franchise owners, and local management work on the same information.
“Many technology companies are building agent harnesses, and they’ll go multiplayer quickly. What sets Yext apart is the historical customer and competitive context,” said Christian Ward, Chief Data Officer. “Any agent can be taught a task or given memory. What separates agents that save time from agents that deliver business outcomes is depth of knowledge about the customer. Yext has the most comprehensive dataset of local competitive intelligence in the industry, more than 20 years of search expertise, and direct distribution across the top sources AI cites.”
Scout keeps tabs on brands and competitors through several surfaces. The surfaces consist of traditional search, AI search, listings, reviews, websites, and social media.
If Scout detects a problem, it notifies the appropriate team, which can then respond through the same channels of marketing communication. The multi-agent system is already available to Yext account teams. Scout users can sign up on the waiting list for early access. According to Yext, the new functionality will enable teams to blend human insight with AI execution.
