Thread AI has raised $20 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate the adoption of Lemma, its composable AI platform designed to help enterprises build, deploy, and scale custom AI workflows.

The round was led by Greycroft, with participation from other investors, and aims to support organizations in integrating AI into operations without the need for rigid, pre-built tools or extensive infrastructure.

In a press release issued Thursday (June 5), the company described Lemma as a platform that lets businesses link AI models, data, and automation into tailored workflows. It supports unlimited AI models, APIs, and applications within a unified environment — all while ensuring governance, model upgrades, and system observability.

“Our platform gives organizations the freedom to create AI workflows aligned with their specific needs, without sacrificing scalability or security,” said Angela McNeal, Thread AI’s Co-founder and CEO.

Enterprises using Lemma have already increased their AI deployment by over 250%, the company noted.

Backing the company, Mark Terbeek, Partner at Greycroft, emphasized the growing demand for AI infrastructure that can scale securely. “Thread AI delivers the flexible, powerful foundation enterprises need to operationalize AI at scale,” he said.

Thread AI came out of stealth mode in October, having previously secured $6 million in seed funding. Founded by McNeal and Mayada Gonimah, both former Palantir AI leaders, the company addresses growing enterprise concerns around data usage and safe AI deployment.

As businesses turn to AI to handle everything from compliance to supply chain optimization, platforms like Lemma aim to simplify and accelerate the transition by enabling rapid prototyping and scalable automation.
