CORSAIR has strengthened its Stream Deck partnership with Bitfocus to expand into professional broadcast and live production markets. The company confirmed a minority investment in Bitfocus during the quarter. Bitfocus is an Oslo-based software company known for its Companion platform.
Over nine years, Bitfocus Companion has been changing Stream Deck into a reliable control surface.Broadcast production, AV production, and live event production teams use this tool across the world. In addition to that, users depend on it to control their video switcher, lighting, media servers, and graphics.
Thi La, CEO of Corsair, said: “I am pleased to formalize our relationship with Bitfocus. Together, we now offer a complete software and hardware solution, one I believe is both compelling and innovative for the professional broadcast market. This partnership also lets us realize more synergy, through joint R&D and a shared go-to-market approach.”
Bitfocus Partnership Expands Stream Deck’s Professional Production Capabilities
This has helped Stream Deck become a popular choice among studios and live venues. Hundreds of thousands of users worldwide currently use it. On the back of its success, Bitfocus has developed Buttons as a corporate-grade platform. The platform works perfectly well for production setups and broadcasts. With the new acquisition, CORSAIR hopes to ensure that Stream Deck caters to the needs of professional production. The acquisition will further boost teamwork between the development teams for hardware and software.
Ole-Andreas Løvland, Bitfocus CEO, said: “Joining forces even more closely with Corsair and Elgato truly strengthens our team, and I’m genuinely excited about what lies ahead. Corsair’s minority investment gives us not only the capital to fuel our next phase of growth and development, but also invaluable shared market insights that will accelerate innovation for both parties, ensuring we deliver precisely what the market needs. At the same time, our vision remains clear: to drive the industry forward by making high-quality production simpler and more accessible, whether for massive TV broadcasts or compact studios. Crucially, Bitfocus remains committed to an open ecosystem as we continue to push boundaries and expand our B2B segment in new and exciting ways. I’m confident this deeper partnership will unlock incredible synergies for everyone involved.”
This collaboration is further fueled by the introduction of Stream Deck Studio in 2024. It was the first hardware made exclusively for Bitfocus Buttons. Thus, both companies continue exploring the field of professional broadcasting solutions even more deeply. At the same time, this collaboration provides many new opportunities for software-based growth, based on an already existing ecosystem & vibrant community. This is why CORSAIR will increase its market presence in more valuable B2B production segments.
