Ideal Nutrition Renews and Expands Its Collaboration with Square as It Scales Booming Franchise Brand

Ideal Nutrition

Ideal Nutrition is expanding its Square partnership as the Florida-based prepared meal company moves toward national franchise growth.

The healthy meals brand currently has 17 retail outlets in Florida. Ideal Nutrition is currently constructing three more retail outlets. Meanwhile, there is a process to find additional locations. Ideal Nutrition chose Square as its unified commerce software.

His peers started asking questions about the meals he prepared. This created an opportunity for Brunet to leverage his hobby into business. Matthew Steinberg, Vice President at Ideal Nutrition, has witnessed the company’s growth since its early stages. He joined the venture in early 2018. So far, Ideal Nutrition has grown from a pure delivery business to a multi-channel business.

His co-workers soon started inquiring about the meals he made. As such, Brunet took the opportunity to turn his hobby into a business. Matthew Steinberg, who is currently the Vice President at Ideal Nutrition, got a glimpse of the development of the firm. He came on board in the first quarter of 2018. Ideal Nutrition has since evolved from being a delivery-only firm into a multichannel enterprise.

“Square has been part of Ideal Nutrition since the day we opened our first retail store, and the relationship has only grown stronger as our company has expanded,” said Wolfgang Brunet, Founder and CEO of Ideal Nutrition. “Today, our customers can purchase Ideal Nutrition meals through our growing network of retail locations or order directly through our website for convenient direct-to-consumer delivery. Having a platform that our teams trust, that can scale alongside our business, and that our franchisees can confidently use from day one is extremely important to us. Other companies have tried to win us over, but Square has continued to earn our loyalty. We’re excited about where the relationship goes from here, particularly as we begin leveraging Square’s AI capabilities to operate more efficiently, better understand our customers, and make smarter decisions as we continue to grow.”

Square Technology Supports Ideal Nutrition’s Growing Operations

In 2019, Ideal Nutrition inaugurated its first physical store. This offered consumers an option to buy other than ordering online. Presently, the organization uses the Square Point-of-Sale system for all its 17 stores. Ideal Nutrition runs the system through Square Register and Square Handheld.

In addition to that, Square for Franchises enables leaders in corporations to have central visibility. Franchisees can operate their own Square accounts through the system.
Ideal Nutrition is able to link Square with DoorDash, Uber Eats, and GrubHub. With its native menu integration, Square makes it easier to make menu changes. In addition to that, Square Online makes same-day pickups available in all locations.

The technology used by Square includes Square Payroll, Square Shifts, Square Loyalty, and Square Marketing. The firm has recorded an email open rate of around 47%. Since the beginning of 2025, customers have accrued over 17 million loyalty points, redeemed more than 64%, generating 110,000 free meals.

“Ideal Nutrition is one of the most advanced Square sellers, with retail, franchise, loyalty, marketing, payroll, and delivery all running through our platform,” said James Schonzeit, Head of Food & Beverage at Square. “As the business rapidly grows, their team is maximizing the technological capabilities available, including by leaning into our AI tools. Wolfgang and Matthew turned this grassroots meal prep concept into a multi-location franchise that’s only just beginning, and we’re excited to serve as the foundation of their expanding footprint.”

Moving forward, the goal for Ideal Nutrition is to have 20 stores by the year 2026. There are plans for Ideal Nutrition to look at other markets apart from Florida as well. Additionally, Ideal Nutrition is considering using the capabilities of Square to predict orders for meals.
