Luma recently submitted 21 AI-generated finalists to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. These entries come from the company’s inaugural Dream Brief competition. This specific initiative inspired almost 400 total submissions in under two months. The project challenged global creatives to execute ambitious ideas using Luma’s Agent, powered by Uni-1. These results show how technology empowers the industry to produce work at scale. Luma aims to prove that AI can handle complex creative visions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The Dream Brief competition logged over 10,000 hours of creative work from participants. Several submissions were produced entirely within Luma, from audio to final editing. One standout example is “Adrenaline Junkies” by legendary directors Hal Curtis and Chuck McBride. This concept was brought to life by the pioneering AI studio OneDay. Luma will now sponsor the entry of these finalists into the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The company is offering a $1,000,000 prize for any sponsored submission that wins a Gold Lion.
“Our goal with the Dream Brief was to move the conversation about AI from ‘you have to use it’ to an invitation to bring all of your best, unmade ideas to life,” said Caroline Ingeborn, COO of Luma. “We wanted to prove that in the hands of visionary creatives, this technology becomes a powerful way to tell stories.”
“The Dream Brief submissions were both exactly what I expected and nothing that I could have ever imagined. We expected hilarious, impossible, weird, beautiful, messy, and bizarre ideas,” said Jason Kreher, Chief Creative Officer at DE-YAN. “But the output itself was impossible to predict.”
