Vanta Appoints Sarah Scharf Chief Marketing Officer as Trust Becomes the Defining Challenge of the AI Era

Vanta Names Sarah Scharf Chief Marketing Officer

Vanta has appointed Sarah Scharf as Chief Marketing Officer as trust gains importance in the AI era. Scharf will join Vanta’s executive team and report directly to CEO Christina Cacioppo. Sarah Scharf will oversee Vanta’s entire marketing function in her new position. She will be accountable for product marketing, brand, communications, content, growth, and revenue marketing.

In 2020, Scharf began her career at Vanta, where she was the first-ever product marketer of the company. In addition, she has contributed to nearly every aspect of marketing during her tenure with the firm. Further, she has overseen Vanta through three different shifts of categories. The company transitioned from automated compliance to trust management and eventually to agentic trust. Scharf joins the firm at a time when companies are placing greater emphasis on AI trust.

“Sarah created our category and then led its next two chapters as we led the market,” said Christina Cacioppo, CEO of Vanta. “Over the past six years, Sarah has led every part of marketing at Vanta: PMM, brand, communications, content, and revenue marketing. She knows Vanta in the way one only can by being in the business for years.”

Vanta introduced this category and has since expanded its work in AI governance and agentic trust. In the meantime, Scharf has been instrumental in the firm’s transition to AI. She has the experience of building an AI-enabled firm.

Scharf brings seven years of experience at Google to her role at Vanta. She has served in various product marketing positions in Account Settings, Next Billion Users, and the Platforms team at Google. At Google, she worked to facilitate the growth of Android and Google Play.

“Trust is the defining problem of the AI era. Solving it takes a brand that’s earned trust itself, and helps others earn it, too,” said Scharf. “At Vanta, the story and the product move forward together, and right now that means transforming how we work with and for AI, without losing the ‘with a wink’ spirit that our customers love. I’m proud to lead a team I’ve helped build since the very beginning.”

This comes after tremendous growth at Vanta. The firm has recently crossed the $300 million ARR mark. This was achieved by Vanta nine months after crossing the $200 million mark. Besides this, there has been an acceleration of growth in each of the last four quarters. The company has even received accolades from CNBC and Forrester. Vanta was listed by CNBC as one of the companies on its Disruptor 50 list.
