Google has introduced Promoted Pins to its Demand Gen campaigns on Maps, allowing advertisers to increase store visibility and drive more foot traffic.

These pins repurpose existing campaign image assets and appear prominently across key touchpoints within Maps, including Browse, Directions, and Place Details. When users explore areas, seek directions, or view specific locations, these visual markers surface to guide interest toward physical store visits.

This strategic integration aims to convert online discovery moments into offline actions, emphasizing the growing importance of connecting digital campaigns with real-world outcomes.

“Promoted Pins on Maps, combined with Display inventory, make Demand Gen resemble a Performance Max tool for mid-funnel objectives,” noted Thomas Eccel, Head of Google Ads at JvM IMPACT, on LinkedIn.

With this move, Google further solidifies its focus on hybrid ad strategies that seamlessly bridge the gap between digital engagement and in-store sales.
